Not professional design, not a PE/RA stamp
DC Forge is a field and office job book. It is not sealed drawings, specifications, or engineering. Nothing in the app is a professional stamp, code opinion, or life-safety sign-off. Licensed design stays with the engineer/architect of record.
Not the contract documents or the owner CDE
Issued packages in Forge are coordination copies. The owner’s contract documents and common data environment (CDE / EDMS) remain the legal record. If Forge and the CDE disagree, the CDE and the signed contract win.
Not a substitute for site safety or law
Punches, RFIs, and safety notes do not replace OSHA/OHS programs, competent-person duties, or owner/GC site rules. Do not use the book as the sole notice of an imminent hazard.
Observations and people
Field observations should be of the work. Mark a shot if it may show faces or other personal likeness. Crew likeness is job data, not marketing. Follow owner and union rules for photography.
Retention of issued record
Issued transmittals stay for the company retention period (default seven years) unless two admins destroy them with the DESTROY ISSUED RECORD phrase. Start empty clears WIP; it does not silently drop issued packages still in retention.
Software, copyright, and no reverse engineering
DC Forge (code, marks, layout, and documentation) is owned by the site owner. A company seat is a license to use the hosted app for that company’s jobs — not a sale of the source, not a right to copy, scrape, republish, or train a competing product on it. You will not reverse-engineer, decompile, or harvest the client or server except as the law cannot waive. Report suspected copying to the founding owner.
Accounts and the company book
The company admin is the controller of the book. Field seats see only granted jobs. You will not use Forge to store medical, payment-card, or children’s data. Export and erasure follow the Privacy notice.
Limitation (product notice)
This notice is part of the product, not a law-firm opinion and not insurance. The company that deploys Forge must have its own terms, DPA, and cover. Software defects or lost sync do not shift design, means-and-methods, or site liability onto the app author.

SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Teams, and Power Automate are trademarks of Microsoft. Bluebeam and Revu are trademarks of Bluebeam, Inc. (Nemetschek). Dropbox is a trademark of Dropbox, Inc. CSI and MasterFormat are trademarks of the Construction Specifications Institute. DC Forge is not sponsored by, affiliated with, or endorsed by those companies. “Open in” and library links hand you to their product; they are not a built-in partnership unless you configured that host. Contractor, vendor, and owner names in sample jobs are fictional.
Cost codes and CSI numbers
Division and six-digit cost codes in sample jobs are a GC estimating convenience. They are not licensed CSI MasterFormat titles, not a CSI publication, and not a bid document. Use the owner’s cost breakdown for contract values.
